Jennifer Lopez Praises Final Four Idols: “Those Voices are Out of This World”

American Idol judge Jennifer Lopez stopped by The Ellen DeGeneres Show (airing today) to chat with the former Idol judge about the final four contestants and her experience on the hit Fox singing competition.

J.Lo and host Ellen DeGeneres bonded over how hard it is to critique contestants week after week.

“What I try to do is really think, like, ‘Okay, I know this person wants to get to the finals,” Jennifer explained. “So, what can I give them right now that’s going to help them be better for next time?’ ”

Of course Ellen probed her, trying to get her to predict a contestant who she thought may take the title as the “Next American Idol,” but Jennifer remained diplomatic praising each of the remaining contestants.

“I don’t know. It’s hard to say. It’s really hard to say,” she began, resiting a prediction. “James [Durbin] and Haley [Reinhart], those voices are out of this world,” she said. “James’ performance quality is peaking, but so is Scotty [McCreery's]. And then you have Lauren [Alaina], who has just, like, an angel voice with all this character.”

A walk down memory lane turned into a scream of shock and anticipation for Jennifer Lopez on 'The Tonight Show.' It started off innocently enough, with Jay Leno asking her about her big break into the world of professional dancing.

"I got a job working as a back-up dancer for New Kids on the Block," she said. "Dancing on the American Music Awards and it was a big deal."

That was back in 1991, "a long time ago," according to Lopez. "There's tape out there somewhere, for sure," she said.

That's when Leno announced, "In fact, we have it right here." And she screamed.

It was rather adorable, seeing her jumping and dancing in classic NKOTB style. Dancing was so much more innocent back then, if this is any indication. Lopez has certainly come a long way in 20 years.

Still, it's nice to know that with NKOTB still touring, she could always go back to her first gig if she wanted to. We're sure they'd have her back.

Jennifer Love Hewitt Is Single Again

Actress Jennifer Love Hewitt is back on the market. The 'Ghost Whisperer' star has split with boyfriend Alex Beh after one year together, her rep told UsMagazine.com.

"They haven't been dating for a little while," the rep added. A friend of the actress told the magazine Hewitt is "doing well" after the breakup.

Hewitt started dating the actor-director last July, just a few months after breaking up with comedian Jamie Kennedy.

Ellen DeGeneres isn't on the panel of 'American Idol' anymore, but that doesn't mean she can't share some laughs with new 'Idol' judge Jennifer Lopez.

The two stars collaborated on an elaborate prank targeting two unsuspecting people on 'The Ellen DeGeneres Show' earlier this week.

Via a hidden microphone, DeGeneres directed Lopez with verbal cues, as J.Lo interviewed two potential assistants.

While Lopez met with the first applicant, DeGeneres had the singer-actress declare herself a "huge star, internationally known" and repeat the word "great" endlessly. The clueless job candidate was asked, "Is my beauty distracting?" and also saw Lopez spray her fragrance into the air, after which she asked, "Have you ever shaved a woman's leg?"

The second applicant was probably equally as bewildered, as Lopez described herself as a celebrity first and a person second, before offering excessive high-fives over their mutual love of chocolate.

Her new dance jam, 'On the Floor,' is already a Top 5 hit on iTunes, and No. 1 in several European countries and Australia. Next, Jennifer Lopez promises to premiere the track's video on 'American Idol' this Thursday,

March 3.

But she says she isn't quite finished with it yet!

Hyping J.Lo's musical comeback, the official 'Idol' website asks fans to pick the best ending for the slick 'On the Floor' video, directed by Taj Stansberry.

The three options are each around 15-20 seconds long, and in truth, are not really all that different. On Thursday, Lopez spoke to Ryan Seacrest's radio audience, according to MTV News, about recruiting the public's involvement in 'On the Floor' once again (her team cast a wide net in January while auditioning talent for the shoot).

"You get to do what I do," she explained.

"Like, I go in there with my videos and I start editing and picking all the shots I like and the things that I like, and what I feel the best kind of feeling for the record is. You guys get to do that. We picked...different ones, and we weren't sure."

The track is the lead single from Lopez's upcoming release, 'Love?' -- the same studio album that languished after a shaky label switch a year ago, but is now scheduled for a March 29 release. "I really feel like, emotionally, I connected to it," she told MTV about her passion for the 'On the Floor' video, "because of how much I love to dance and how much that's always been such a big part of who I am since I started....Since I was a little girl, I just totally connected with the idea of getting out there."
