Kim Kardashian's Parents Gave Permission for the Engagement

While Kim Kardashian was caught off guard when Kris Humphries proposed to her, Kim's parents, Kris and Bruce Jenner, were aware of Humphries' proposal plans because he asked for their permission a few days earlier.

PEOPLE is reporting that Kris revealed this information to the press conference.

"He came to Bruce and myself and asked us for Kim's hand in marriage, and it was really just so cute the way that he wanted to surprise her," Kris Jenner said.

Humphries reportedly was in Kim's bedroom on bended knee with red rose petals spelling out the all important question, "WILL YOU MARRY ME?"

The New Jersey Nets player proposed to the reality star with a $2 million rock from Lorraine Schwartz. The ring boasts a 16.5-carat emerald cut diamond in the center of two 2-carat trapezoid shaped stones, totaling 20.5 carats of "the highest clarity and color."

Kris said that she decided to host a family dinner in honor of the occasion without revealing the real reason to the rest of the family. "[Kim and Kris] were going to come over to my house, join the party, and then tell the rest of the family."

Even Kim's sisters, Khloe and Kourtney, were unaware of the engagement and were caught by surprise, just like the rest of the family, when the announcement was made.

Khloe revealed everyone else was in the dark. "None of [the rest of] us knew," she said. "We were all sitting there like, 'Kim is so late for dinner and we're starving.' And we're like, 'Where the hell is Kim?'"

"Then she walked in, and we're like, 'Oh my God!'" Khloe said. "But we just thought we were going to a family dinner."

Kourtney said, "We had no idea! We were both surprised at the dinner when Kim came out with her big rock and she started waving it in the air."

An entertainment insider has revealed that Kim could make millions thanks to her wedding, especially for the exclusive wedding photos.

And since we are talking about the Kardashians here, there is also the possibility of a spin-off TV show that would follow her getting ready for the big day, culminating in a televised ceremony.

more attention by making hers the biggest celebrity wedding ... ever.

"Kim's wedding is going to be bigger than Tom and Katie," a friend of Kim's tells me. "In fact, she wants it to be bigger than William and Kate's."

On that grandiose note, a source also told OK! Magazine that Kim "sees herself as a bigger celebrity than Kate Middleton."

New Jersey Nets player Kris Humphries popped the question in her Beverly Hills home May 18th by waiting in her bedroom on bended knee with four words written in red rose petals: "WILL YOU MARRY ME?"

Then he gave her a custom-designed, 20.5-carat Lorraine Schwartz diamond sparkler valued at about $2 million. (Kris' salary on the Nets is $3.2 million.) But this is just the beginning of the pomp.

"The wedding is going to be massive. They are talking about having multiple weddings around the world. All of which will be recorded to air on TV and have hundreds of celebrity guests attending," an insider tells me. "Kim is not a low key kind of person."

Indeed, Kim sees herself as part of an American royal family of sorts, and her wedding will reflect that. "Just like Kate," my source continues, "Her dress will be kept a huge secret until she steps out of her limo or maybe she will have horse driven carriage."

Kim Kardashian Reveals Weddings Plans

Though Kim Kardashian and beau Kris Humphries have only been dating for a few months, the reality star is already talking engagement rings and weddings plans.

"I've envisioned the whole thing," Kim tells Life & Style, on newsstands tomorrow. "I can't wait to get married. I've found my wedding dress -- I mean, I already know what my gown is going to look like. I've thought about it all for so long. What woman hasn't thought about her wedding since she was a little girl?"

Kardashian was even spotted talking to friend Brittany Gastineau about engagement rings while at the Beverly Hills Nail Design earlier this week. "I want Lorraine to design me a big diamond ring," Kardashian was overheard saying, referring to close friend and jewelry designer Lorraine Schwartz.

"Her idol is Elizabeth Taylor, who was a good friend of Lorraine's, so she wants to take inspiration from one of Elizabeth's prized possessions: her famous cushion-cut Krupp diamond. Kim's been talking to Lorraine about it a lot lately," says a source.

It's just not wedding plans Kardashian has on her mind these days. She's already planning a family with Humphries.

"I think I'll name my kids with K's to keep the tradition going," she says, with a friend revealing she wants to name her son Kristopher Jr. "I want a big family," Kardashian told Life & Style. "Three to five kids!"

Kim Kardashian Responds to Turkish Cosmo Cover Controversy

Kim Kardashian graces the cover of this month's Cosmopolitan Magazine in Turkey--unfortunately, it coincides with Genocide Remembrance Day, which commemorates the victims of

the 1915 Armenian genocide by the Turks.

The reality star took to her blog to share her thoughts on the matter: "I just found out today that I am on the cover of Cosmopolitan Magazine in Turkey this month," Kardashian wrote.

"Cosmopolitan Magazine has a number of international editions all around the world that run in various territories, and when I did this shoot for the international covers I had no idea that Turkey was planning to run my story on their cover THIS month, considering Genocide Remembrance Day is this month," the 30-year-old star continued.

"My Armenian heritage means a lot to me and I've been brought up to be incredibly proud of my family's background and culture so as an Armenian-American woman it is a huge honor for me to be on the first ever Armenian Cosmopolitan cover.

"I have an amazing relationship with Cosmopolitan Magazine. World-over, Cosmo is known as a fun and inspiring magazine for women of all races, shapes, sizes, regardless of their political beliefs and I really hope that if I can bring awareness to the issue, then this in an accomplishment," she concluded.

A rep from the magazine gave the following statement to TMZ.com regarding Kardashian: "Kim Kardashian is one of our favorite cover girls. We were thrilled to have the opportunity to photograph her for the Cosmopolitan editions worldwide."

Kim Kardashian's Twitter Hacked by 12-Year Old Boy (Photo)

 

Someone with a foul mouth and a teenagers's sense of humor has taken over Kim and Khloe Kardashian's Twitter feeds.

Most of the tweets on Kim's site are almost unprintable on a family-friendly publication, but they involve X-rated acts, Kris Humphries' naughty bits, ice, pink feathers and scatological functions.

The tweets on Khloe's page are similar and include things like: "Sometimes I make Lam-Lam pretend my boobies are basketballs. I paint them orange and ask him to dribble them."

Photos of Humphries have also taken over the background for Kim's site, leading some to speculate that the basketball player has been tweeting as a joke.

But anyone who knows how tightly the entire Kardashian clan controls their business (and make no mistake, Twitter is part of their business), knows a prank like this wouldn't go over well with the brand ... we mean family.

It might be payback for a prank Kim played this morning on pal Nicole Richie this morning.

Kim and Nicole's hubby Joel got into Nicole's account wrote things like: "I heart @KimKardashian 's boobs" and "Damn. @joelmadden is lookin' fine. mmm mmmm mmmmmmm HUBA. HUBA."

Nicole caught on quick and tweeted herself: "SO FUNNY @JoelMadden & @KimKardashian! But I am a mature, classy, & sophisticated adult, & I don't have time for your "foolish" games!"

Still, the R-rated tweets on Kim's page have continued and they're getting increasingly more smutty and are anything but classy, sophisticated or adult.
